PowerShovel Demekin Fisheye

The PowerShovel Demekin Fisheye is a tiny, fisheye lens-equipped camera designed by PowerShovel, Ltd. for the 110 film cartridge. PowerShovel, also known as SuperHeadz was founded in the year 2000 by Hideki Omori after he successfully introduced plastic Russian cameras to Japan. Such cameras were cheaply made and often technically flawed but, much like the Lomography movement that swept through the Western world at roughly the same time, these ā€œtoy camerasā€ gained popularity in Japan through the interesting and unusual effects that their plastic lenses and light leaks often had on images.

Kodak EasyShare V570

The Kodak EasyShare V570 is a high-end compact digital camera introduced by Kodak in 2006 and the first ever dual lens digital camera to see production. With its classic lines and minimalist design, the V570 received a gold medal at the 2006 Industrial Design Excellence Award and went on to spawn two more dual lens digital cameras: the Kodak V610 and the V705.

Sony DSC-P50

The Sony DSC-P50 is a fairly nondescript digital camera introduced in 2001. The P50 belongs to the now defunct ā€œPā€ series of Sony Cyber-shot cameras which are characterized by squat physical proportions and rounded edges. Normally, I wouldnā€™t bother posting something like this on Vintage Camera Lab but this humble Sony has the distinction of being my very first digital camera, the one that liberated me from what, as a poor college student, I considered to be the prohibitively high cost of buying/processing film and allowed me to shoot to my heartā€™s content.
